After an impressive win away at Actonians last Sunday, the Ladies’ attention temporarily shifts to the County Cup semi-final against tier-three Real Bedford.
Ex-Real Bedford forward, Tasha Fensome, netted a brace last Sunday in the Town’s 2-1 victory over Actonians. Fensome has 15 goals across all competitions this season and is the top goalscorer of the Bedfordshire Women’s Senior County Cup, following her quarter-final hat-trick against Biggleswade United in January.
Fensome is one of seven current Town players to have featured for Sunday’s opponents. Sarah Hudson, Chloe Tambula, Lisa Milliken, Taylor O’Leary, Amy McLean and Emily Wilson will all be in contention to face their former side.
The opposition
Real Bedford sit fifth in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, after back-to-back promotions from the fifth-tier.
During the 2023/24 season, the Pirates edged the Hatters to promotion from the ERWFL Premier Division.
At the beginning of last season, Real Bedford appointed Charlie Bill as first-team manager. Bill joined from Milton Keynes Women, bringing a host of players from the side with him to Bedfordshire. 14 wins and seven draws in 22 league games was enough for the Pirates to gain promotion in a season where they secured the County Cup too, after a 5-0 victory over the Hatters at Kenilworth Road.
