The Town return to league action for the first time this year when they host second-placed Norwich City at Barton on Sunday afternoon.

The Ladies got off to a strong start to 2026 last Sunday when they beat Biggleswade United Women 5-1 away from home in the Bedfordshire Women’s Senior County Cup to set up a semi-final tie against Real Bedford Women.

The match saw Fiona Buttigieg make her return to action after being sidelined with a knee injury since October.

The opposition

Sunday will be the second meeting between the two sides this season. Norwich City were 4-0 victors in the reverse fixture at Carrow Road back in September.

Andy Cook’s Canaries sit second in the FAWNL Division One South East table, one point behind league leaders Fulham, and are on a 10-game winning streak in the league.

Barton has proved to be a difficult place to come for opposition in the recent years, but the Hatters have only won three times on home soil across all competitions this campaign.

They will face a tough test against a Norwich side who have been almost faultless on the road this term, winning six out of their seven matches on their travels, scoring 19.

Back the Town

The Ladies’ long-awaited return to Barton takes place this Sunday, with a 2pm kick-off. And they need your support as they look to pick up their first three points at home since the opening day.

Tickets are available via cash payment only on the gate, priced at just £5 adults and £1 children.
